Hello Raiders! This month, in honor of Earth Day, the Green Raiders are promoting and hosting some events that you all should know about:

  • April 17 – Stark Parks is hosting a clean-up on the Mahoning Valley Trail. Sign up here.
  • April 21 – Picnic Tables for the Alliance Farmers Market will be placed in the Quad at 11 a.m. for a fun day of painting and service.
  • April 22 – Kiwanis One Day of Service 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. through the Regula Center – details and registration here
  • April 22 – NATURE CENTER EVENTS: The Green Raiders will be hosting a trail clean-up from 1 – 3 p.m. and a seed planting workshop from 2 – 4 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to participate! You can also enjoy a slice of “BEARTHDAY” cake while you are there! To register, click here.
  • April 22 – Tri-Beta is hosting the district conference and the Green Raiders will be giving sustainability tours. These tours highlight the actions that Mount Union has taken towards becoming a more sustainable and green campus.
  • April 26 – The Green Raiders will be giving Sustainability tours during the De-Stress Fest from 5 – 7 p.m. in the HPCC. If anyone would like to take a tour outside of these times, contact Jamie Greiner at greineja@mountunion.edu.

The results from RecycleMania are in … Clutter Manor has won!!! The Green Raiders will be a drawing names during Earth week for the residents of Clutter. There will be five UMU t-shirts, two $10 Chipotle gift cards, and five $10 B&B gift cards in the drawing. As a whole, our campus recycled 43,672 pounds for the eight weeks of the event! More results will be shared later in the week!

Lastly, good luck with exams and projects as the semester winds down. We hope to see you at our events!
