Hi everyone! My name is Lauren and I am a junior here at the University of Mount Union. After graduating in 2012 from Southeast High School in Portage County, I enrolled at Mount Union.

As a little kid, I never once said, “When I grow up, I want to be a ….” Not because I was unmotivated, but because I never wanted to grow up and live in the real world. By the time I applied for college, things really hadn’t changed. I still had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Since coming to Mount, I have started to learn more about my own interests. I am now a public relations major, with minors in psychology and business administration. Still deciding what I want to be when I eventually grow up, I try to take advantage of everything I can as a student.

I am very involved on campus. I am a sister of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and with that I volunteer to help the Alliance community and raise money for our philanthropy, domestic violence awareness. I am the public relations council representative for my chapter, and also a representative for GAMMA (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol). I am the treasurer for the Public Relations Student Society of America, and a member of the American Marketing Association and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society.

I promise that, even though my list of involvements runs on and on, I do more than go to classes and meetings. I’m the poster child for saying that you can do a little bit of everything and still have free time. I love going on spontaneous adventures, spending time with friends and eating… and sleeping… but what college kid doesn’t? I really enjoy being outside. I like running… yes, I’m one of those people. Since graduating from high school I have run a half marathon and all types of “fun runs” such as the color run, the zombie run and other various 5ks. I hate the cold – welcome to the life of an Ohioan. Nothing is better than sunshine! I love everything about summer, especially spending my days on the lake wakeboarding. I have been doing it since I was seven and have developed a passion for it. I hope to one day live somewhere warm enough to be able to do it year round… and not freeze.
