Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt

Looking for an excuse to get out of the house this summer? Consider the Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt at the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature center. It’s a great way to spend some time outside with friends. The scavenger hunt is perfect for all ages and is open to everyone, so don’t feel like you have to be a professional to win. In fact, it is a great way to get kids outside and enjoying nature!

The rules are pretty simple; your group has to take digital photos of all 30 things on the list. Photos must be taken between June 1 and August 31 of this year and be submitted to the Nature Center by September 5. All groups who turn in completed entries are entered to win a 4-pack of Nature Center T-shirts!

Keep in mind that not all 30 things on the list are easy to track down, such as a salamander, raccoon tracks and someone walking a dog! The fun is trying to get everything on the list and you can be as creative as you want doing it!

I’ve decided to give it a try. My friend and I have gone out twice now and found about half of the things on the list. While we haven’t found everything yet, we did come across a lot of cool stuff that we didn’t expect to see, which has definitely made the trips worth it!

So if you think you are up to the challenge, there is still a month left. Good luck, and maybe I’ll see you out there!
