Although, at least to me, Pandora seems to do a better job of playing music that I want to hear when I type in an artist, song, etc. The only thing I wish Pandora did was keep track of all the songs you listen to like you mentioned with Last.fm. Those sorts of stats are really interesting to look at once you've been at it for a couple months. Last.fm is a great service as well. Plus, you can "love" a track which will save it in a separate library. I used to use pandora all the time, but I really prefer last.fm now.
