Ben, I finally read your post and I'd like to make several quick points. First, this was extremely well written, insightful, concise, and informative. Second, I like the structure you decided to go with--laying out the key points, the problems, and the solutions. Lastly, if this weren't a blog, you could really explore the McCain-Lieberman dynamic as it is incredibly interesting considering how different they are in their political views, yet, as you rightfully noted, how similar they are in a few key areas. Interestingly, Lieberman took a risk and endorsed McCain during his 2008 bid for the presidency and, as you also noted, they have a history of working together. It's a bold move on McCain's behalf to take this stance, and I think you nailed it by noting the political influences as well as his strong military propensities. See you at work in a bit.
